Indiana Deputy Attorney General Tamara Weaver will be the Indiana State University department of criminology and criminal justice’s featured speaker at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 in Dede I of Hulman Memorial Student Union. All are invited to hear Weaver give an overview of the attorney general’s office, key duties and activities. She has worked in a various sections of the office, so she will share a unique perspective. As a deputy attorney general in the Victim Services and Outreach Division, she is involved in human trafficking prevention and investigation efforts around the state including training individuals to recognize human trafficking and working to develop strategies for serving victims of human trafficking. The Indiana attorney general currently co-chairs Indiana’s Task Force against Human Trafficking, IPATH (Indiana Protection for Abused and Trafficked Humans). Weaver of Chesterton, Ind., earned her bachelor’s in political science from Valparaiso University and her law degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law. Comments are closed.
