The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Merit Deputy Sheriff.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, with no arrests or convictions of a felony or any crime involving domestic violence.
Applicants will undergo an extensive background check including employment and credit history, physical agility testing, aptitude testing, psychological testing, as well as a polygraph examination.
Starting salary for a fulltime Deputy Sheriff is $33,859. with annual pay increases, plus longevity increases after four years of service.
Deputies also have access to a generous health insurance package and pension plan, in addition to receiving paid vacation, as well as governmental recognized holidays. Deputies residing in Sullivan County receive a take-home patrol car.
Career Deputies have opportunities to work in specialized areas such as criminal investigations and K9 officer. Deputies also have opportunities to attend a wide variety of specialized training courses and participate in area special service teams.

Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a Physical Fitness Assessment on Saturday, Dec. 5.
