-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating the disappearance of a local woman. Officials are asking the public for any information on the whereabouts of Tracy Smodilla, 46, reported missing to police on Memorial Day -- yesterday. Her friends say they haven't seen nor heard from the petite blonde -haired, blue-eyed woman for 10 days. Smodilla's Facebook profile indicates she is employed by the Vigo County School Corp. Information is limited at this time, however, according to THPD Chief John Plasse, Smodilla was last seen on Sunday, May 21 leaving a local tavern. Friends say Smodilla was last seen driving a 2007 silver Dodge Caliber with damage to the front passenger side. She also reportedly had taken her dog with her the last day she was seen, a week- and- a -half ago. Indiana Central News Terre Haute Police are asking residents on the northside to avoid a sinkhole in the road that became noticable on Memorial Day. THPD officers blocked off the area near the intersection of N. 11th Street and Seventh Avenue at about 6 p.m., just after it was reported. The Terre Haute Street Department is expected to evaluate it soon for repairs and place baricades arounnd the approximately 2 - feet by 2 -feet wide hole that is several feet deep at this time. |
