"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds." - Theodore Roosevelt
Make it a habit to be thankful -- and to say it -- for services rendered in our community, for a helping hand and for a kind gesture shown to us on an average day.
That one person expressing gratitude can sometimes make up for a hundred who don't show it. In my own experience, it's that genuine and most unexpected "thank you" that means the most -- the ones that make your work feel valued and encourage you to do more of it.
A quote from Theodore Roosevelt: "Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."
To the health care workers, public safety officers, members of the military and countless other professionals:: Your actions are appreciated, whether you hear it or not.
This Thanksgiving, I am particularly thankful for the quality of care my father received the past three days while he was a patient in Union Hospital. He is coming home just in time for dinner today.
Happy Thanksgiving, Terre Haute!
