INDIANAPOLIS -- Marchers gathered in a nationwide protest last year to advocate for women's rights, heathcare reform and many other issues following President Donald Trump's inauguration last year.
They gathered again for the second time all across the country today, including Indianapolis, with an emphasis to encourage more women to take part in elections and to run for office this year -- for the Power to the Polls March. The March drew a large crowd, estimated at around 3,000. Beginning at the American Legion Mall, the marchers walked to the Indiana Statehouse. Many held signs. Voter registration and other information were available to attendees. Several were scheduled to speak at the event, as well.. |
