Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter and his primary staff recognized three Putnamville Troopers for their work and dedication during a recent ceremony, including Master Trooper Charles Boller, Trooper Yan Dravigne and Trooper Kyle Hall.
The awards program was held on Friday, April 15, at the Indiana Government Center for Indiana State Police employees.
Boller, a 15-and-a-half year veteran of the ISP was awarded both the Combat Action Award and the Bronze Star Award for his actions on November 27, 2004.
Boller, two Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies, and a Greencastle Police officer safely rescued the female while coming under additional gunfire from the suspect. The suspect eventually surrendered and received a 45-year sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections. Boller’s award reads in part “Trooper Boller’s actions involved personal bravery and self-sacrifice at a level clearly beyond expectations”.
Dravigne was awarded the 2015 Putnamville District Trooper of the Year. This award was presented to Trooper Dravigne for achieving outstanding enforcement efforts in the areas of traffic and criminal enforcement, case and crash investigations, and for exemplifying the professionalism and integrity expected of an Indiana State Trooper.
This is Dravigne’s third consecutive award for Trooper of the District. He is also the recipient of the ISP’s statewide 2014 Trooper of the Year Award. Trooper Dravigne is an eight-year veteran of the department serving the first four years as an ISP civilian motor carrier inspector and the latest four as a road trooper.
During his time as an MCI, Dravigne received the Ray Reed Award for 2010 MCI of the Year and in 2011 the Commanders Award for his outstanding drug interdiction efforts.
Hall, a two-and-a-half year veteran of the ISP was awarded the 2015 Putnamville District DUI Award for his efforts in combating impaired driving on Indiana roadways.
