US 41 Lane Closures under I-70 beginning Monday Night The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announce U.S. 41 will be reduced to one lane under I-70 in both directions beginning Monday, May 2 from 11:59 p.m. until 4 a.m. each night, weather permitting. Crews will be demolishing the I-70 bridge deck above. It is anticipated this work will last through Thursday morning. Superior Construction Co. was awarded this bridge deck replacement project on I-70 for $6.9 million. This project includes replacing the decks on both bridges over U.S. 41 and Thompson Ditch and the Indiana Railroad. The project is scheduled for completion in October of 2018. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph throughout the entire work zone. This construction project has been targeted by the Indiana State Police Department for increased enforcement activities in an effort to reduce speeding in the work zone. INDOT encourages motorists to slow down and pay special attention while traveling in work zones throughout Indiana. ![]() DNR UPDATE 4-28-16:LODI– Indiana Conservation Officers have recovered the body of 37 -year -old Jason Allen Underwood along the Wabash River approximately 2.5 miles upstream of the SR 234 Bridge. ICO Central Dispatch was notified at 2:46 p.m. today that Underwood’s boat and body had been located on the back side of an island by landowners riding ATV’s in the area. Underwood suffered a single gunshot wound. The body was transferred to the Fountain County Coroner’s Office for further investigation and to determine the cause of death. No foul play was suspected. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in this investigation. Agencies assisting on the scene included the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, Park County Sheriff’s Office, Fountain County Sheriff’s Office, Vermillion County Coroner’s Office, Fountain County Coroner’s Office, and Beedles Wrecker Service ------ Indiana Department of Natural Resources Div. of Law Enforcement WABASH RIVER – Indiana Conservation Officers are asking for the public’s help with any information or the whereabouts of a missing man who has exhibited suicidal tendencies. Jason Allen Underwood, a white male 37- years- old, is presumed to be on a boat on the Wabash River. Mr. Underwood was reported missing by Henry County Dispatch in the late evening of April 25. Mr. Underwood’s vehicle and boat trailer were discovered at the Attica boat ramp (Fountain County) on the Wabash River. Mr. Underwood’s boat is described to be a 15 foot 1979 Smoker-Craft of an unknown color. The registration number displayed on the boat is IN1111BH. A missing person’s case is being investigated by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana Conservation Officers. A joint effort by several Districts of the Indiana Conservation Officers has resulted in the search of multiple Counties along the Wabash River as well as surrounding waterways. ICO’s have been actively searching the Wabash River by boat and foot since the late evening of April 25. ICO’s have searched the Wabash River from the SR234 Bridge (east of Cayuga) to the Granville boat ramp (south of Lafayette). The Vermillion River was also searched in its entirety, extending to the Illinois State line. At this time, Indiana Conservation Officers are asking that anyone with information pertaining to this case, please call ICO’s Central Dispatch at (812) 837-9536. If a boat matching the description or a person matching the photo is located, please do not approach for your own safety, it is unknown whether Mr. Underwood is mentally stable.
