Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
CARLISLE -- Two promotions have been announced at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF). Sullivan County resident Dustin Pirtle has advanced to Correctional Sergeant at WVCF. Pirtle has served as a Correctional Officer at the maximum-security facility since 2014 . Prior to time spent in custody he worked for ARAMARK, the contracted offender food service provider. The combined total of seven years of service has provided Sergeant Pirtle with extensive safety and security experience. The new custody supervisor has also received Quick Response Team (QRT), CTS (Certified Treatment Specialist) and Field Training Officer (FTO) training. Cindy Lett of Knox County has been promoted to Secretary 3. Ms. Lett began her facility career as a Secretary 4 with Religious Services in July of 1996. In 2007 she was assigned to the Policy & Procedures/Offender Grievances Department before joining Programs in 2008. While working for the Programs Department Cindy helped with community service related fundraisers and coordinating Fatherhood Program activities. The new Secretary 3, will be assisting the Custody Supervisor and the North Campus Unit Team Manager.

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces State Road 641 will have one lane closed between the McDaniel Road exit and Moyer Road Bridge on or after today Monday, April 24.The contractor will be placing the top layer of asphalt on the roadway. This work is scheduled to last through the end of May. Walsh Construction Co. of Crown Point, IN was awarded the Phase III contract for $25,298,936. Phase III runs from just northeast of Feree Road to just south of Moyer Road. The S.R. 641 project includes the construction of a new four-lane, full access control roadway connecting U.S. 41 southeast of Terre Haute to I-70 east of the city.
Closures scheduled on I-70 in Vigo County tomorrow night
Rolling closures for installation of overhead sign The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces I-70 eastbound will experience rolling closures lasting up to 20 minutes tomorrow night Tuesday, April 25. These closures will begin around 11 p.m. with lane closures wrapping up around 2 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, weather permitting. The 20 minute closures are for the installation of an overhead interstate sign near the 10.5 mile marker. Police will be assisting with these closures. The S.R. 641 contract was awarded to Beaty Construction, Inc. from Boggstown for $46.8 million. This is the last section of the bypass to be constructed and it runs from just south of Moyer Road to the I-70 interchange. The S.R. 641 project includes the construction of a new four-lane, full access control roadway connecting U.S. 41 southeast of Terre Haute to I-70 east of the city. INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone. |
