Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
LINTON – Recently, an offender work crew from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) worked at the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) in Linton. The offender work crew, comprised of six offenders, was able to rebuild the entire damaged side of the fence that lines the softball field. In less than eight hours, the offenders took down the old, damaged fencing and replaced it with the new fencing, which is featured in the photo above. When asked about the work provided by the crew, K. Allen, the Southern Regional Manager of the Office of Investigations & Intelligence, stated the following, “I was impressed with their work ethic and their ability to complete the job in a short and timely manner. Each offender volunteered to work the detail on a Saturday morning. The other volunteers were equally impressed and had nothing, but good things to say about the work crew.” WVCF has fve Level 1 security offender work crews. The offenders provide free help to Sullivan, Knox, Greene, Daviess, Vigo, Vanderburgh, Clay and Parke Counties!
