SULLIVAN - On Nov 28, 2020, at approximately 10:51am, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Detective Ron Elliott was dispatched to an attempted armed robbery at the Country Porch gas station, on north Section Street.
The manager stated a white female loitered around the store before approaching the cash register, where she pulled a handgun.
The manager refused to hand over anything, and ran to an adjoining business to call 911.
The armed female fled the store, then headed west on foot.
The manager describe the handgun as dark in color, and added the female was wearing a black jacket, a grey hood and black mask.
A witness gave a more detailed description, reporting that the female appeared to have dark hair. He said the female was wearing black tennis shoes, dark grey colored leggings, and a light grey hoody under a black jacket.
He also observed a black mask, gloves and a dark colored bag.
Deputies searched the area, however were unable to locate the suspect.
Detective Elliott was able to ascertain store security footage.

Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
CARLISLE, Ind. -For the past five years, staff at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility have teamed up with the Sullivan County Salvation Army to help provide coats to kids.
The Salvation Army receives referrals from schools, churches and social service agencies throughout Sullivan County. WVCF has been a part of the Salvation Army's mission to provide coats for kids since 2015. Over the years, the number of coats donated has continued to rise. This year, WVCF staff donated 51 coats.
Deputy Warden Frank Littlejohn organizes the coat drive.
He said, "I could not be more proud of the generosity of our staff. They have a true passion for youth and demonstrate that each and every time there is an opportunity to give."
