Today, Prosecutor Terry Modesitt met with leaders of the local Recovery Community to thank them for their work in supporting people with substance use disorder and giving people hope. In doing so, nearly $25,000 in grants were awarded to six local recovery groups to support their programs. Grant applicants submitted requests for assistance in areas including scholarships for participants, new breath test equipment and vehicle repairs. The grants distributed total almost $25,000. The programs and amounts given were: The Avenues $4,000 Club Soda $5,827.51 Next Step $5,290 Odyssey House $3,000 Teen Challenge $3,300 Truman House $3,500 Total Awarded: $24,917.51 In presenting the checks, Prosecutor Modesitt thanked the groups for doing the hard work and being on the front lines of helping people with substance use disorders. He further stated "Our ultimate goal is to get people right and get them to be productive citizens, and law abiding citizens." GREENCASTLE - At a recent post meeting, several officers of the Putnamville Post were recognized for their years of service dedicated to the citizens of Indiana. For reaching this milestone, each officer received an award from Indiana State Police Superintendent, Douglas G. Carter, of a framed certificate and a longevity pin to be worn on the uniform. Thank you to these troopers for their unparalleled dedication and service to the citizens of Indiana and the Indiana State Police.
