The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces there will be traffic pattern changes at the I-70 interchange at Exit 11 in Vigo County on or after Thursday, May 18, weather permitting. Traffic will be shifted into the new State Road 641/State Road 46 northbound lanes so the contractor can finish working on the southbound lanes, between Margaret Ave. and the I-70 eastbound exit ramp on the south side of this interchange. Three ramps will also open. The I-70 eastbound ramp to southbound S.R. 641, the I-70 westbound exit ramp to head north on U.S. 40/S.R. 46 and the I-70 eastbound exit ramp to head north on U.S. 40/S.R. 46. The S.R. 641 contract was awarded to Beaty Construction, Inc. from Boggstown for $46.8 million. This is the last section of the bypass to be constructed and it runs from just south of Moyer Road to the I-70 interchange. The S.R. 641 project includes the construction of a new four-lane, full access control roadway connecting U.S. 41 southeast of Terre Haute to I-70 east of the city. INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone. Comments are closed.
