![]() Wabash Valley Correctional Facility CARLISLE - Knox County native and Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) employee Janna Anderson has just hit the big "40!" Ms. Anderson is all smiles over the milestone, 40 years of dedicated service to the State of Indiana. Anderson joined other State of Indiana Employees as they were honored at the Governor's Long-Term Employee Reception at the Indiana Statehouse Atrium August 19th. Janna Anderson started her career in public service with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), at the Vincennes District Office in 1976. She switched gears in 1992, travelling north to the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility, serving as secretary under two assistant superintendents. Since 1997 Janna has been the administrative secretary to the superintendent. The North Knox High School graduate said, "I can't believe it's been 40 years!" I love my job and the daily challenges it brings with it." Anderson said it seems like the State of Indiana has always been part of her life. "During my time with the State I got married (to husband Paul), we built our home, the kids were born and raised and they have blessed us with six grandchildren." Janna said she enjoys the rural life of Knox County, living just minutes away from Wabash Valley but knows she has a big decision to make. " Part of me wants to stay forever, part of me wants to spend even more time with my family but for now I'm just going to appreciate this special honor." Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) Commissioner Bruce Lemmon, also recognized for 40 years of service, paid special tribute to all IDOC honorees for exemplifying dedication and steadfastness during the Statehouse ceremony.
