Vigo County Prosecutor's Office
Today, Terry Modesitt had the pleasure of presenting a check for over $2,000 to Melissa Jenkins, the director of The Avenues, a new recovery house serving women, supported by The Bridge Church. In presenting the check, Prosecutor Modesitt stressed “I think it is important for the community to understand that we want to support people that are serious in their recovery. We are not just trying to put everyone in jail.” Also present during the presentation were DeAnna Griffin, a Certified Recovery Specialist and volunteer with the house and Billy Henry, Pastor of The Bridge church. These funds will allow The Avenues to purchase the amenities needed to open up a second residence for women in recovery. Melissa Jenkins noted “The waiting lists for all of the recovery houses around here are huge. And we definitely need more.” If you would like to support this program, other recovery efforts or would like to know more about the recovery options available in Vigo County, please contact or visit the Wabash Valley Recovery Alliance located 619 Cherry St. Comments are closed.
