![]() By Riley Fire Department Riley Firefighters and Edington's Wrecker Service teamed up on Tuesday evening to train for wrecker assisted extrication's. Edington's wrecker service, located on Margaret Drive in Terre Haute, demonstrated their equipment's ability and expertise to assist firefighters in the event of accident involving large vehicles such as semi tractor trailers who commonly weigh nearly 80,000 lbs. Having the ability to lift these heavy vehicles in a safe and precise manner is vital to a successful rescue of victims of these types of crashes. Firefighters need to be aware of these types of technical resources so they can be summoned quickly. "Edington's Wrecker Service brings a valuable resource to our community and we appreciate their willingness to work with us to better prepare both of our agencies to effectively manage these technical and sometime difficult rescues." said Fire Chief Jeff Fox.
