JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind.- Indiana State Police were called to investigate a police action shooting that occurred in Hanover, Indiana resulting in the death of John Unsworth,43, of Hanover early this morning.
ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles explained that Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to 4012 S. C.R. 400 W., Hanover, shortly before 5:00 a.m. in reference to a domestic dispute. “After arriving at the scene, the deputies got in a confrontation with Unsworth. As a result, one of the deputies fired his weapon at Unsworth. Unsworth was struck at least once and passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained,” Wheeles said. Unsworth reportedly had become agitatated after being struck by a stun gun before the incident. The investigation is ongoing by detectives with the Indiana State Police. Comments are closed.
