Sullivan County Sheriff's Office
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Merit Deputy Sheriff. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, with no arrests or convictions of a felony or any crime involving domestic violence. Applicants will undergo an extensive background check including employment and credit history, physical agility testing, aptitude testing, psychological testing, as well as a polygraph examination. Starting salary for a fulltime Deputy Sheriff is $33,859. with annual pay increases, plus longevity increases after four years of service. Deputies also have access to a generous health insurance package and pension plan, in addition to receiving paid vacation, as well as governmental recognized holidays. Deputies residing in Sullivan County receive a take-home patrol car. Career Deputies have opportunities to work in specialized areas such as criminal investigations and K9 officer. Deputies also have opportunities to attend a wide variety of specialized training courses and participate in area special service teams. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a Physical Fitness Assessment on Saturday, Dec. 5.
