SULLIVAN COUNTY -- Two area residents have been promoted at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) in Carlisle.
Lori Cardinal, of Sullivan County, has advanced to casework manager. She has been a valuable asset since joining the maximum-security facility in November of 2002. Cardinal began her career as a payroll clerk then steadily advanced to human resource technician, classification, training and by 2008, Special Needs Unit (SNU) secretary. Her expertise and thorough knowledge of the mental health treatment unit let to her promotion to correctional caseworker in July of 2013. Providing offenders in subsequent housing units with counseling and resource assistance, vital for re-entry into society, prepared Cardinal for her new casework manager supervisory role. Along with her housing unit duties, and supervision of a caseworker(s), she will also cover population housed in the infirmary unit.
Vigo County resident Ally Rittenberg has moved from custody to the unit team ranks as a correctional caseworker. She began her career at WVCF this past July as a correctional officer, garnering experience as the education and visitor processing officer. Caseworker Rittenberg said time spent in custody provided a strong teamwork foundation. “We are in the safety and security business and we all work together to provide offenders with the tools needed for a successful transition back into society.”
Rittenberg is currently attending Ivy Tech in Terre Haute with a double major in applied science of criminal justice, and general science. Comments are closed.
