Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
CARLISLE -- Three area residents have advanced in the custody ranks of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF)! Kevin Ewers of Sullivan County has been promoted to Lieutenant from Correctional Sergeant at the maximum-security facility. The 20 year facility veteran joined WVCF as an Officer in 1996. He has been honored as both Officer of the Month and named Supervisor of the Month three times since advancing to Correctional Sergeant in 2013. The new Assistant Shift Supervisor brings a vast amount of experience to his new assignment, with time spent in restricted status, open population housing, property control and serving as a facility trip officer. During his four years as a Correctional Officer (C/O) at WVCF, Sullivan County resident Ryan Voigtman has been primarily posted to open population housing units. As a C/O, Voigtman has earned the respect of his peers as a team player who communicates and works effectively with the offender population. Voigtman has twice been named Officer of the Month and was honored as Correctional Officer of the Year in 2015. Sgt Voigtman also successfully completed FTO (Field Training Officer) and QRT (Quick Response Team) training in preparation for the supervisory phase of his correctional career. Newly promoted Sergeant Chris Wright of Knox County has been with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) for 18 years. During his tenure as a Correctional Officer at Wabash Valley, Wright has worked in every housing unit, served as a trip officer and as the CCU (Custody Control Unit) property officer. Sgt. Wright is also a Certified Treatment Specialist (CTS), possessing the expertise needed to work with mentally ill offenders. “We have promoted three enthusiastic individuals ready to lead and promote the principals of safety and security at Wabash Valley, “ noted Assistant Superintendent/Operations Frank Littlejohn. I’m confident they will work closely with our unit team and programs staff as we prepare offenders to go home as productive citizens,” he added. Comments are closed.
