Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
CARLISLE -- Greene County’s Jackie Storm has been promoted at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF). The 19-year facility veteran is the new Community Services Director for the maximum-security facility. Ms. Storm began her Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) career as a Correctional Officer at WVCF, working as a relief, dispatch, count and Special Needs Unit (SNU) officer. She also spent five years on the SITCON (situation control) team. Jackie put her experience to good use in 2015 when she advanced to PLUS (Purposeful Living Units Serve) Coordinator. “I’ve learned a lot in PLUS about the importance of community service and the positive impact giving back has on our PLUS offenders. I also learned a lot about the role our community volunteers play. They don’t have to be here, they come because they want to be part of our mission, getting these guys ready to go home and becoming productive citizens. I’m excited to partner with our nearly 300 volunteers in my new assignment!” Her new role includes recruiting and training new volunteers to assist with programs ranging from education, re-entry and religious services to substance abuse. “Without volunteers programming would be extremely difficult to provide,” Storm added. Community Services Director Storm will also oversee the WVCF Fatherhood program and help determine how fundraising money is distributed to area charities. Comments are closed.
