Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
CARLISLE-- Sullivan County resident Tim Riggle has been promoted to Assistant Superintendent/Operations at the Miami Correctional Facility (MCF). The Utility Captain at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) has been as custody fixture at WVCF since June of 1992, starting as a Correctional Officer. “The prison had not even officially opened yet and I really didn’t know what to expect in dealing with offenders, but we trained hard, became a team and were ready when the gates opened in December of 1992.” The Bloomfield native and high school graduate (class of 1980) advanced to Sergeant in 1995, to Lieutenant in 1996 and promoted to Correctional Captain in 1998. During his time on the job Riggle has received numerous Letters of Appreciation and Commendations for his on the job performance. “I was very proud when I received a Commissioner’s Coin for filling in for Major Dusty Russell during his time away a few years ago. It meant a lot and I learned a lot about being an effective custody supervisor” WVCF Assistant Superintendent/Operations Frank Littlejohn said, “Tim’s the total package. He has a wealth of safety and security knowledge. He’s a strong communicator and he’s committed to preparing our offenders to go home and not come back. The Wabash team will really miss him.” The former United States Army Infantry Sergeant (1983-1989) begins his MCF, assignment on November 7, 2016. Comments are closed.
