A Hillsdale woman and two juveniles were airlifted to Indianapolis hospitals with serious injuries after a crash involving a semi truck in Vermillion County last night.
All three victims were passengers in a pickup truck that collided with the semi.According to the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office, their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Scanner traffic indicated the woman's skull was visible from wounds. Emergency crews responded to the crash on SR 63 and CR 800 S after the pickup reportedly pulled out into the path of the semi tractor trailer hauling logs just before 7:30 p.m. Deputy Troy Vaughn explained that the driver of the pickup, Jacqueline Baldwin, 35, also of Hillsdale, was turning east toward Hillsdale, from the southbound lanes of SR 63, when she crossed the northbound lanes in front of the semi. All lanes were closed to traffic while crews worked the scene. Both Baldwin and the semi truck driver, Clinton Barnett, 55, of Wisconsin, did not report injuries at the scene.. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Comments are closed.
