UPDATE 5/3/22 - Dillion K Killion, 29, of Terre Haute, was identified as the deceased victim in Monday's crash with a semi.
--- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY - One person is dead after crashing a car into the back of a semi truck in Sullivan County Monday afternoon. Sgt. Matt Ames, of the Indiana State Police, explained that the victim's name is expected to be released following a scheduled autopsy Tuesday morning. Emergency crews responded to the crash on US 41, north of SR 48, around 1:30 p.m., where the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet was dead at the scene.
According to the report, Thomas E. Selig, 64, of Rockville, was northbound in a 2015 Mack semi tractor-trailer on US 41 with emergency lights activated, as he was hauling hazardous materials at a railroad crossing. At that time, Ames said the northbound car -- directly behind the semi-- failed to stop with the truck and crashed into the back of the semi. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Shelburn Police Department, Farmersburg Police Department, Thunderbird Volunteer Fire Department and Sullivan County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene. |
