Indiana Central News PARKE COUNTY- A Clinton man was hospitalized after police say another driver failed to yield to his motorcycle in Parke County today. William J. Trimble, 69, was transported by air ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Emergency Crews responded to the scene of the crash at US 41 and Vila Rosa Road around 2:20 p.m. According to the report, Carolyn S. Tupes, 73, of Rosedale, was driving a 1994 Dodge pickup, when she attempted to turn south onto US 41 from Vila Rosa Road. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said Trimble was thrown from his motorcycle. He explained that Trupes failed to observe Trimble's 2009 Honda motorcycle traveling southbound on US 41, when she struck it. "Trimble attempted an evasive driving maneuver, but was unable to avoid the collision," Ames said.
CLAY COUNTY - Brazil City Police Department Assistant Chief Dennis Archer was arrested early this morning for drinking and driving.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames, Trooper Todd Brown arrested the 43-year-old following a traffic stop in Brazil. The traffic stop was conducted on US 40 and West Street for unsafe lane movement. Archer reportedly had a BAC .09 percent. Officials say he was off duty and not using a department vehicle at the time. Archer was released from the Clay County Jail a short time later. |
