These stories are developing at this time and the injuries and arrests are not known. No further information was available at 8 p.m. today. Around 60 residents of the Lighthouse Mission at 1450 Wabash Avenue were evacuated after a fire started on the second floor of the structure late Saturday night.
Several units from the Terre Haute Police and Fire Departments responded to the homeless shelter just after 11:30 p.m. THFD Battalion Chief Joe Swan said the fire was quickly extinguished and is under investigation at this time. He confirmed one resident’s information to ICN that an individual was found dead inside the building about the same time of the incident, and that that it is not related to the fire. The resident, who declined to give his name at the scene, commented that the deceased individual had recently undergone a heart procedure. |
