Indiana Central News . SULLIVAN COUNTY --Dylan Schmidtz. 22, of Carlisle, is facing burglary charges after initially being booked into the Sullivan County Jail Aug. 14 on related firearms charges. Sheriff Clark Cottom said investigators have since linked Schmidtz to the scene of at least three burglaries and he is subsequently charged with the following:
Schmidtz and another suspect were near the scene of a recent burglary when Sullivan County Sheriff's Department deputies pulled them over. Ultimately, they were found in possession of multiple firearms. “Further investigation led to the discovery of multiple stolen items from the previous night’s burglaries inside the Schmidtz vehicle. Investigators collected fingerprints, shoe prints and items for DNA analysis,” Cottom said, noting he called in crime scene technicians from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Indiana State Police to process the burglaries scenes. The investigation is ongoing. Further analysis of evidence is reporteldy being conducted at the Indiana State Police lab in Evansville to determine if others were involved. -- See related story

Indiana Central News INDIANAPOLIS - A man and woman were arrested during a Community Corrections home visit after officers smelled burnt marijuana from the doorway --- ultimately busting the two for drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia and a handgun found inside the Indianapolis home Tuesday. Dionysus Mitchell, 28, reportedly was on home detention with electronic monitoring steaming from a 2015 felony gun case when officers arrived for a check up. Mitchell and another person in the home, Katherine Taylor, 33, were transported to the Arrestee Processing Center after officers completed a search warrant. Mitchell was arrested for escape and dealing in marijuana, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. Taylor was arrested for dealing in marijuana, a felony, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. . According to the report, members of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's North District Flex Team accompanied officers with the Marion County Community Corrections to conduct a home visit on Mitchell in the 7200 block of Rawlins Square at around 2 p.m. Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and found the following items:
