Indiana Central News SULLIVAN - A Sullivan man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his wife and children when she had reportedly interrupted him during an argument at their home earlier this week. Andrew Elmore, 39, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail Monday around 12:30 p.m., where he is charged with four counts of intimidation and criminal confinement. "The victim reported that Andrew said she needed consequences for interrupting him during the argument," Chief Deputy Jason Bobbitt, of the Sullivan Co. Sheriff's Office, said. Elmore allegedly became very controlling and dangerous. "She also reported that Andrew threatened to take a knife to her throat and kill her children," Bobbitt explained. Initially, he told her to write sentences for being disrespectful and then became more extreme in his anger --- holding her captive in the residence and refusing to let her have access to her phone and car keys. She was able to escape the following day, when Elmore went to a scheduled appointment. She fled with the three children, escaping through a cornfield, according to the report. The mother and her children found a nearby house and was able to use the phone to call police. Chief Bobbitt was able to apprehend the suspect with assistance from Sullivan County Community Corrections and Sullivan City Police. |
