Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY - An Illinois man was arrested in Sullivan County in connection to a two-state theft ring after police executed a search warrant Friday evening. Daniel J. Snyder, 28, of Bridgeport, Ill., was booked into the Sullivan County Jail Saturday around 12:45 a.m. He is being held on the following charges: multiple counts of felony theft, dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of syringes. The investigation began when the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office received information regarding stolen equipment, including a backhoe that reportedly was stashed at the Sullivan County residence, Sheriff Clark Cottom explained. The Indiana State Police assisted in executing the search warrant, which resulted in the recovery of several stolen items, as well as drugs and paraphernalia. "During the search, several ATVs, tools, a trailer and a backhoe were found on the property, that were previously reported stolen in both Lawrence and Crawford Counties (Ill.") Cottom said, adding that methamphetamine and syringes were also found. Snyder remains in the jail with a $95,000 cash bond. ![]() By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. - A man was arrested in Sullvian County Wednesday afternoon after being pulled over in a vehicle allegedly stolen from Marion County. Richard Canter, 44, of Nineveh, Indiana, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail following the traffic stop, where he is being held on charges of auto theft, a level 6 felony and theft, a class A- misdemeanor. Sheriff Clark Cottom said Lt. William Snead was on patrol in the Shelburn area around noon, when he noticed the suspicious vehicle on Mill Street. He ran the license plate and determined the municipal plate was listed as stolen from Marion County. Canter is being held on $12,000. bond, 10 percent allowed. |
