Indiana Central News PUTNAM COUNTY - A passenger has died after a vehicle crashed into the back of a fire truck on Interstate 70 in Putnam County this morning.
Sgt. Matt Ames, of the Indiana State Police, explained that the Cloverdale Fire Department was responding to a single -vehicle accident around 8 a.m., when the driver of the 2019 Tesla failed to see the parked emergency vehicle, striking the back of the truck. Both victims were extricated from the car. -- Troopers from the Putnamville State Police Post, Putnam County Operation Life, STAR Ambulance, Cloverdale Fire Department and Indiana Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.

Indiana Central News SULLIVAN - A Sullivan man was arrested on drug charges after fleeing police on a bicycle yesterday. Keith Krentkowski, 53, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail and charged with:
Once taken into custody, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were found in Krentkowski's jacket pocket, Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said. According to the report, the suspect was riding a bike in the middle of the roadway, near State and Harris Streets in Sullivan, with no front or rear illumination around 6:45 p.m. "The subject ignored the emergency lights and siren of Trooper [Andrew] Mattern’s fully marked patrol car, and pedaled faster, attempting to flee by traveling through the city blocks and alleyways," Ames said, adding that Trooper Mattern then exited his patrol car for a pursuit on foot. The suspect eventually got off the bike and fled on foot to a nearby residence, where taken into custody.
