Blaze destroys Sullivan Co. ambulances, headquarters

SULLIVAN -- Fire investigators with Indiana Department of Homeland Security and State Fire Marshais are investigating the cause of a blaze the leaves the county three fewer ambulances and a headquarters, which were destroyed this morning.

The fire reportedly started in the bay area of the Sullivan County Ambulance Service  building on North Section Street at about 7 a.m.  Officials say no one was injured in the fire.

By afternoon, clean-up from the rubble was underway. Sullivan County Highway Department and Sullivan County Jail inmates were at the site clearing out what supplies and appliances were believed to be salvageable.
