Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY— A Carlisle man was arrested on drug charges in Sullivan after a traffic stop last night. Tristen M. Nicholas, 20, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common muisance and possession of paraphernalia.
Indiana State Police Troopers from the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Unit reponded to the area to assist the Shelburn Town Marshal and Sullivan City Police with an active meth lab found in a vehicle in Sullivan around 11:30 p.m.
"A search of the vehicle yielded an active meth lab, many items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine, approximately one gram of methamphetamine and numerous items of paraphernalia," ISP Sgt. Joe Watts said. According to the report, the Shelburn Town Marshal stopped a vehicle for false and fictitious registration at the corner of Section and Washington Streets. Marshal [Billy] McCombs reportedly noticed odors consistent with possible methamphetamine production. Sgt. David Story, of the Sullivan City Police arrived a short time later to assist and the officers before the Meth Suppression Unit arrived at the scene. The case is being investigated by Shelburn Town Marshal Billy McCombs, with ISP Meth Suppression Troopers Shilo Raulston and B. J. Patterson and Sullivan City Officer Dave Story assisting.
