Indiana Central News Just ahead off St. Patrick's Day festivities, officers from the Vigo County Traffic Safety Partnership and the Indiana State Police are amping their patrols, according to Capt. Charley Funk, of the Vigo County Sheriff's Office. He explained that the Terre Haute Police Department, VCSO and ISP stepped-up aggressive and impaired driving enforcements all around the community --- to continue throughout the remainder of the month -- while St. Patrick's Day and March Madness celebrations traditionally are underway. ISP Sgt. Joe Watts said the collaboration of local law enforcement is an effort to keep everyone safe and reminds citizens with plans to drink, not to get behind the wheel. "The message is clear: Do not drink and drive," Watts said, pointing out that someone is killed in alcohol- related crash every 53 minutes around the nation. Comments are closed.
