Indiana Central News VERMILLION COUNTY - Emergency crews in Vermillion County responded to a semi fire on Interstate 74 yesterday afternoon. Several callers reported the semi on-fire to dispatchers around 1:15 p.m at the 3 mile marker. When crews arrived, the semi had an empty aggregate trailer that was on fire. The semi was pulled off the westbound roadway and the driver had managed to exit the semi and was not injured, according to the Vermillion County Sheriff's Office. Cayuga Town Marshal, Deputy Cayuga Town Marshal, Covington Police Department, Covington Fire Department, Perrysville Fire Department, Illiana EMS and Vermillion County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
