Indiana Central News Hundreds of classic, antique and hot rod cars cruised along Wabash Valley roadways this afternoon, turning many heads with their unique beauty and power along the way. According to the website, thousands of auto enthusiasts enter the The Hot Rod Power Tour each year. Participants began the journey last week in Kansas City, Mo. and will wrap up the 23rd annual, seven-day tour Saturday in Bowling Green, Ky. Many of the vehicles passing through Terre Haute and Brazil this afternoon were on the way to the next stop, in Indianapolis. They were seen traveling in packs along historic Ohio Boulevard, northbound on Fruitridge Avenue and then eastbound on US 40. One observer noted that several of the drivers opted to take Interstate 70. Spectators got a chance to snap photos of many of the vehicles parked at various places during the day. Several customers stopped to admire a shiny green Ford Torino parked in the lot of a restaurant on National Avenue in Brazil at lunchtime -- the vehicle looking just as lovely as it most likely did in the early 1970s. A minor traffic mishap at SR 59 and US 40 in Brazil around 1 p.m, stalled traffic near the intersection briefly, with Brazil Police Department Officers responding to the minor rear-end crash involving one of the cars.
