 According to the report, detectives preliminarily believe that the victim is a male and have discovered a distinctive tattoo on the victim's back that reads "Only God Can Judge Me". UPDATE 4/19/16: IMPD investigators have identified the victim found in the White River on Sunday, April 16. The man has been identified as 44-year-old James Rice.
Detectives are continuing to seek answers in the death of Rice and his case is currently classified as a death investigation. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to N. White River Pkwy W Dr and W New York St on a body in the White River at around 4 p.m. According to the report, detectives preliminarily believe that the victim is a male and have discovered a distinctive tattoo on the victim's back that reads "Only God Can Judge Me". "The Indianapolis Fire Department and IMPD responded and discovered what appeared to be a torso of a male. IFD removed the unidentified body and brought it to the river banks. No (other) identification or information is available including race, age or how the body ending up in the water," Detective C. Benner states in a press release this evening. Detectives hope that someone may recognize the location and statement of this tattoo, and that will help with identification of the victim.
