VERMILLION COUNTY JAIL -- Two Indianapolis women were arrested on theft and drug charges during a traffic stop in Vermillion County yesterday.
Cherith Hadnott, 23, and Aniya Harris, 22, were booked into the Vermillion County Jail. Hadnott is charged with possession of counterfeit currency, possession of marijuana, theft, false informing and driving while suspended. Her passenger, Harris, is charged with possession of counterfeit currency, possession of marijuana and theft.
Indiana State Police Trooper Daniel Organ stopped the silver Dodge passenger car for speeding on Interstate 74 near the 4 mile marker just before 6 p.m.
The vehicle was traveling westbound and was clocked traveling 87 miles per hour in a posted 70 mph zone, Trooper BJ Patterson said, adding the driver had a suspended license. The two suspects were reportedly deceptive with the trooper during the traffic stop. However, they consented to a search of the vehicle. Found during the search:
