Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY -A 14-year-old Sullivan Middle School student was arrested late last night following an Indiana State Police investigation into an alleged threat involving a gun made towards others . Although it ultimately was discovered that the juvenile did not have a firearm on school grounds, the teen was transported to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village in Vincennes. He is charged with disorderly conduct -a Class B misdemeanor and intimidation - a Level 6 felony. According to ISP Sgt. Matt Ames, the threats were reported to law enforcement during a Thursday night football game held on school property. "The student made an allegation to other students that the father was coming to the school grounds with a gun," Ames said. Emergency dispatchers received a call around 7:20 p.m. alleging someone in possession of a firearm was in attendance at the middle school football game. Southwest School Corporation administrators immediately took precautionary measures, Ames explained. He added that they moved all individuals to an alternate location to wait for police to arrive on scene. The suspect was quickly located and cooperated with police. Sullivan City Police Department, Shelburn Police Department and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation. Comments are closed.
