Indiana Central News INDIANAPOLIS - While Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Bryan Roach says it's "concerning" that a baby's 19-year-old mother, Amber Robertson, didn't report the girl missing for a week, he said during a press conference today that she is not considered a suspect in the investigation. However, he stated that Amber's boyfriend, Robert Lyons, 20, is a suspect and informed reporters that the case is now being investigated as a homicide. Amiah Robertson, just 8-months-old,was last seen alive and well on March 9. Lyons reportedly told Amber that the child was left with her babysitter. The babysitter denies that report. Further investigation revealed that the baby was last seen in the 200 block of Holmes Avenue in Indianapolis. Since then, 25 IMPD detectives and many others in the community continue to look for any clue on what might have happened to Amiah.. "Officers have responded to tips and assisted with searches over several districts and worked alongside community volunteers searching for Amiah. IMPD will continue to investigate until the case is resolved," Roach said. Although Lyons is a suspect in the missing person's case, detectives are not actively searching for him, according to an IMPD press release. Infomation on Lyon's vehicle was provided. "Detectives are urging anyone with information on Lyons movements between March 9 and and March 16, while he was driving a 1996 Maroon Isuzu Rodeo SUV, in poor condition, in the area near Mickley Avenue and Rockville Road on March 9, 2019 between 1:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., to call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317.327.3475 or report tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 317.262.TIPS (8477)." Roach noted that investigators, following up on a tip to search the Eagle Creek area, found items now confirmed to be related to Amiah's disappearance. Assisting IMPD detectives in the ongoing investigation: The FBI, Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency, Indianapolis Fire Department and Marion County Prosecutors Office.
