![]() By Lucy Perry News Writer Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY - A fallen Terre Haute Police Department officer, Rob Pitts, was killed in the line of duty just two years ago. Now, his survivors feel Pitts' memory has been victimized in another way. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames announced Thursday that the mother of Pitts' young son -- also the guardian of the child -- was arrested for the theft of nearly $250,000 in funds from the child's estate. Josie M. Huff, 31, of Robinson, Illinois, was arrested on a warrant by the Robinson Police Department and transported to the Crawford County Jail in Illinois. She is set to be transported to Sullivan County, where she will be held on a $15,000 bond, with 10 percent allowed. The four - month Indiana State Police investigation began after detectives received information from a family member that Huff was allegedly misusing the money. Details on the alleged spending spree have not been provided at this time in the investigation. However, Ames notes that the investigation revealed the funds were being misappropriated from Pitts' and Huff's son's estate for the woman's self-gain. ---- See related story Comments are closed.
