SULLIVAN COUNTY- Two people are being treated for injuries suffered in an accident that happened this morning at US 41 at SR 58 in Sullivan County.
Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to the two-vehicle crash at about 8:30 a.m. Frances Harvey, 62, and her mother, Melba Haythorne, 88, both of Oaktown, were transported to an area hospital. Harvey reportedly suffered shoulder pain and Haythorne neck and back pain. According to a report by ISP Sgt. Joe Watts, a maroon 1994 Chevrolet S 10 pickup, driven by Charles Scott Sr., 75, of Merom, was eastbound on SR 58 and attempted to cross US 41. "In doing so, Scott drove into the path of a northbound red 2010 Dodge SUV, driven old Harvey," Watts said, adding that Scott was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Scott was treated at the scene and released. The crash was investigated by ISP Senior Trooper Tom Hanks. Assisting were ISP Master Trooper Polly Blackburn, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Bobbitt, Carlisle Town Marshal, Sullivan County EMS, and Hadden Township Fire/Rescue. Comments are closed.
