Indiana Central News MONROE COUNTY -- A man and woman armed with knives were arrested on multiple charges after conservation officers responded to a suspicious person call in Monroe County Tuesday afternoon.
Indiana Conservation Officer Kurt Kinser responded to the report just outside of Bloomington around 3:30 p.m. He reportedly was met by the man wielding a large knife. "Kinser encountered Ferguson, who was armed with a large knife, and aggressively approaching him," ICO Jim Schreck said, "Shortly afterward, Terrell exited the woods, also armed with a large knife. " Kinser began to place Ferguson into custody when both subjects dropped the knives, after observing suspected methamphetamine, when Ferguson allegedly attempted to strike Officer Kinser. He then fled on foot. A chase ensued and the officer deployed a taser -- effectively subduing Ferguson. "Further investigation revealed additional suspected methamphetamine concealed on Terrell, and she was also taken into custody, " Schreck said. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Bloomington Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
