Suspicious fire investigations underway

Terre Haute Police Arson Investigator Norm Loudermilk was at the scene of a string of suspicious fires late Tuesday night after Terre Haute Fire Department crews were dispatched to three closely timed small fires, set at separate locations in close proximity to one another.

The fires were reported between  9 p.m. and 10 p.m., and including a mattress fire at N. 14th and Elm Streets. The two other incidents occurred at N. 13th and Tippecanoe Streets and another mattress fire at N. 13th and Beech Streets, according to scanner traffic.

According to Central Dispatch, the fires  were quickly extinguished . The investigations are ongoing at this time for each fire.
