A North High School student was arrested early this morning following allegations of threats made to several others on social media.
The suspect was taken into custody by officers of the Terre Haute Police Department at the school. He was transported to the Vigo County Juvenile Justice center where he was charged with felony intimidation. The Terre Haute Police Department was contacted by representatives of the Vigo County School Corporation concerning social media threats made to 13 Vigo County Students, Sgt. Denzil Lewis explained, adding that detectives immediately launched an investigation. "During the course of the investigations, detectives were able to obtain records from the social media site. These records indicated that a Juvenile Terre Haute North Student was utilizing the social network site as the person who made the threats," Lewis said. "At no time were the listed students safety at risk." The investigation is ongoing. Comments are closed.
