VERMILLION COUNTY --- A Danville, Illinois woman was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop for speeding in Vermillion County last Sunday.
Jessica Musson, 37, was booked into the Vermillion County Jail on charges of: 1) Operating a vehicle while intoxicated – Schedule I or II controlled substance – C Misdemeanor 2) Possession of cocaine - Level 6 Felony 3) Possession of a Schedule I and IV controlled substance – A Misdemeanor 4) Possession of paraphernalia – A Misdemeanor The suspect was taken to a local hospital and tested positive for cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, and tricyclic antidepressants after admitting to using drugs earlier in the day. Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputy John Hawkins noticed the suspect vehicle speeding eastbound on I-74 during Operation Pull Over aournd 11 a.m. Other deputies assisted at the scene. “Deputies noticed several indicators of nervousness, illegal activity and an odor coming from the vehicle that was consistent with marijuana,” according to the sheriff’s office. . When Musson was asked to turn around so that a pat down could be conducted of her person for any weapons, she got out a small black bag from the rear waist band and reportedly stated that it contained crack cocaine. “She admitted to smoking cocaine earlier in the day and failed her field sobriety tests,” according to the report. A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle revealed possession of several controlled substances. After being transported to the hospital, the suspect became uncooperative. “Musson became defiant and resisted deputies during the course of their duties,” according to the report. Musson has since bonded out after the mandatory hold time was completed for the OVWI. Comments are closed.
