The family of fatal hit -and- run victim, 40-year-old Bilal M. Ali, of Murphysboro, Ill. is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Ali.
On the morning of the crash, Saturday, April 23, Indiana State Police and other multiple agencies checked the Terre Haute area with no luck in finding the suspect vehicle. Ali reportedly parked his tractor-trailer on the shoulder of Interstate 70, near the 13 mile marker, in Vigo County and was standing along the driver’s side of his unit, possible checking a flat tire. According to the report, that's when another westbound vehicle then struck and killed Ali and continued westbound on I-70 without stopping for the accident. "Investigators believe the suspect vehicle was another tractor-trailer unit. Evidence at the scene suggests the tractor was white and should have noticeable damage to the right front headlight and passenger side mirror areas," Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts said today. Indiana State Police continue to investigate this tragic death. Anyone with information in this case should contact investigating officer Master Trooper Matt Ames at the Putnamville Post at 765-653-4114. Comments are closed.
