Indiana Central News SULLIVAN COUNTY - Police say a baby's recent serious injuries were allegedly caused by the mother's live-in boyfriend. Dalton W. Arnold, 24, Sullivan, was booked into the Sullivan County Jail this morning. He is charged with battery resulting in protracted loss or impairment - a Level 3 felony and neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury - a Level 3 felony. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said the four-week-old suffered significant life threatening injuries from being battered by the suspect. The ISP investigation began May 21, when the infant was transported to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis after initially being brought to a local hospital for treatment. The injuries reportedly occurred while the woman was present. Arnold was arrested without incident. Sullivan City Police Department and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the arrest. Arnold remains held in the jail on $60,000 bond. Comments are closed.
