Indiana Central News CARLISLE – A woman was arrested this morning after Wabash Valley Correctional Facility police say she was allegedly laundering drug money and conspiring to traffic narcotics into the prison in Sullivan County. Debra L.Thompson, 53, of Indianapolis, was taken into custody and transported to the Sullivan County Jail where she was charged with two counts of trafficking with an inmate, both level 5 felonies. Thompson was stopped by the Office of Investigations and Intelligence as she arrived to visit an inmate around 10 a.m. After interviewing the suspect, investigators searched her vehicle and phone for evidence. Thompson reportedly admitted to trafficking money and drugs to the facility. Warden Dick Brown warns anyone thinking about trafficking that the security team works to ensure that drugs stay out of the hands of inmates. “The Investigations and Intelligence staff work hard to keep drugs out of the facility and this is a great example of their efforts”, stated Brown, in the press release. “Anyone conspiring to traffic drugs into the facility will face arrest and prosecution.” Comments are closed.
