Shoup was arrested and booked into the Vigo County Jail, where he is preliminarily charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated resulting in death. ![]() "Alcohol and high vehicle speed is a factor in the crash," Ewing said, noting that Shoup's blood alcohol content was .23 percent. Both Vigo County and Parke County deputies responded to the scene on a call regarding the passenger car striking a tree at a high rate of speed.
