![]() Two Terre Haute men were arrested last night on warrants for allegedly setting a house on fire last month. Brian K. Dixie, 39, and William G. Wright , 25, were both booked into the Vigo County Jail, where they are both charged with arson and burglary. According to the probable cause affidavit prepared by Arson Investigator Norm Loudermilk, the family was on vacation in another state when the two suspects -- who reportedly were roomates living next door to the victim's house-- allegedly teamed up to break into the home after a night of drinking alcohol. The Terre Haute Fire Department was dispatched to 2414 Locust Street July 20 at about 5:30 a.m. Each suspect reportedly informed Loudermilk he was the "look out" while the other allegedly used a credit card and pry bar in attempt to break into the home after first entering the garage earlier in the night. A window casing on the door was then set on fire. Investigation at the scene confirmed the origin of the fire was at the rear door. The house sustained significant damage due to the fire. Fire damage extended into the kitchen and smoke and thermal damage in adjacent rooms, according to the report. Dixie and Wright are scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Bond for each suspect has been set at $50,000, no 10 percent allowed. Comments are closed.
