UPDATE- Two male shooting victims have survived initial gunshot wound -related injuries after being hospitalized this morning. Asst.Chief Shawn Keen said they were shot at while they sat in a parked car in the 1600 block of Seventh Avenue at about 9:40 a.m. Information on the shooting victims and any possible suspects, including their names, is not being released at this time due to the nature of the investigation. However, witnesses were able to provide police with descriptions of a a vehicle leaving the scene after gunshots were fired. "A suspect vehicle was observed fleeing the scene westbound on Seventh Avenue," Keen said, noting investigators continue to review video surveillance of the area. The investigation is ongoing. Information is limited at this time; However, THPD officers are at the scene and canvassing the area of Seventh Avenue near North 16th Street for evidence and witnesses. Assistant Chief of Police Shawn Keen said the two victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
